Presented by Alistair Greetham
Module 1: 17th/18th October 2008

If you completed the Polestar Pilates for Rehabilitation or Pilates Studio series when it consisted of 4 course modules (PR, R-1, R-2, R-3 or PF, S-1, S-2, S-3 - prior to 2006), then the Polestar Update Course is for you!

The 2007 Polestar Pilates Studio and Pilates for Rehabilitation Series’ have been redesigned from the ground up. The curriculum has been expanded to include more repertoire, additional apparatus, and the introduction of advanced teaching and cueing skills.

The new curriculum has been designed with input from the Curriculum committee, consisting of numerous members, with over 150 years combined Pilates experience, including experts in orthopedic and neurological physiotherapy, pathophysiology, dance medicine, Feldenkrais(r), Gyrotonic(r), sports performance enhancement, athletic training, personal training, communications, and energy medicine.

The new curriculum includes the addition of 18 pre-Pilates mat exercises as well as over 40 basic through advanced apparatus exercises. Many traditional Pilates exercises have been added with our unique Polestar flair, creativity and modification. The curriculum is designed with an understanding of motor learning theory to best facilitate the students’ learning and assimilation of the material over time.
