Alastair Greetham MCSP

Alastair Greetham has been a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists for twenty years. He trained in the military, working mainly in the area of orthopaedic rehabilitation, where he had the unique opportunity of working with a young, fit population who needed to return to activity very quickly. His interests in sports and movement led him to study many different disciplines and specialise in movement and posture-related problems. Alastair is also trained in Chinese medicine and acupuncture. His interest in learning led to training in hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. He subsequently trained with Polestar Pilates Education to use Pilates exercise in a clinical environment and is now working to develop systems to unite his different areas of interest, in order to enhance healing and performance ability. Liz Bussey

Liz Bussey

Liz is an internationally known Pilates teacher and presenter. She has (deep breath now): trained extensively with Polestar and other leading Pilates training schools, has a BA (Hons) in Education, a Personal Trainer diploma, is an NLP and Reiki practitioner and has experience with the Trager technique and the KMI Structural Integration technique.

She recently opened her own Pilates studio in Lewes, East Sussex, where she works closely with remedial therapists and lifestyle coaches. Currently a Principal Educator for Polestar Pilates UK, she's renowned for her innovative facilitation techniques and her expertise as a trainer and communicator.   Brent Anderson Brent Anderson, President of Polestar Education LLC

Brent Anderson is a leading authority in performing arts medicine and Pilates-evolved techniques for rehabilitation. A licensed Physical Therapist and Orthopaedic Certified Specialist, Brent is a frequent speaker at national and international scientific and professional conferences. He currently serves as President of Polestar Education, based in Miami, Florida. Brent Anderson consults with professional dance companies, schools and conservatories throughout the world. He served as President of the American Physical Therapy Association's Performing Arts Special Interest Group and is a member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science.   Shelly Power

Shelly Power BS

Shelly Power is the Director of Fitness and co-founder of Polestar Pilates Center Miami, a Pilates conditioning, rehabilitation and physical therapy studio in Miami, Florida. Shelly is a Polestar Principal Educator, and has taught for Polestar Education since its inception in 1992. Shelly is pursuing training and certification in the Gyrotonic Expansion System with Angela Crowley and is a Franklin-Method® Educator Level 1. She has been a member of International Association for Dance Medicine & Science (IADMS) since 1996, and is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance. Shelly danced professionally for 12 years with the Sacramento-based modern dance company Dale Scholl Dance/Art. She received her BS degree in Dance from California State University, Sacramento, where she served on the faculty from 1992-1998. She studied Pilates and worked as a physical therapy aide with Polestar President Brent Anderson at his clinic, Anderson Physical Therapy, in their native Sacramento for 7 years, and later moved with Polestar to Miami in 1998. Shelly teaches nationally and internationally for Polestar Pilates Education. Shelly also administers exams, conducts Pilates workshops and Polestar Mentor and Educator training worldwide.   Andy MacDonald

Andy MacDonald BA, BPSA

Andy MacDonald was introduced to the Pilates Method whilst studying for her Bachelor of Contemporary Dance in Auckland, New Zealand.  Prior to studying dance, Andy gained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and criminology at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand.  After graduation she completed her Polestar mat and studio certfication.  In 2002, Polestar invited Andy to become part of their educator program. This involves presenting and lecturing on courses for individuals training to become Pilates instructors. Since then, she has had the opportunity to learn from Amy Alpers, Rael Isacowitz, and Polestar founder Brent Anderson as well as other master teachers in NZ, America and Europe.  She is currently enrolled and studying towards her Masters with The Pilates Centre in Boulder, Colorado whilst living and teaching in the United Kingdom.   Vikki Wale

Victoria Wale BA (Hons)

Victoria trained as a dancer and has a BA(hons) in Dance and Postgraduate in Education from the University of Surrey.  She learnt Pilates whilst dancing and commenced her formal teacher training with Body Control Pilates in 1998 whilst working as a Personal Trainer and Dance Teacher.  Her professional development continued with Polestar Pilates where following her studio qualification, she became a Mentor. Victoria studied the Franklin Method in Switzerland and obtained a three year teaching diploma in 2006.  This approach to teaching movement has enhanced her Pilates teaching within the Polestar environment and she now embarks on a role as an Educator for the company. Victoria has a studio in Byfleet, Surrey and collaborates with an Osteopath to train both sports and performance professionals, the general public and employees of large corporates.  Victoria is dedicated to helping people to achieve the best performance from their bodies, both physically and mentally.   Diane Nye

Diane Nye

Diane comes from a background in Fitness Training and has been teaching since 1989. She first discovered Pilates in 1998 and trained in London to teach mat work. This introduction to the method made her keen to learn more, so she continued to study with various Pilates organisations and practitioners of movement within the UK. She came to Polestar in 2003 for the Studio Course and set up a studio at her home in Caterham, Surrey, where she has been busy teaching since. She has mentored for the Polestar Studio series in London since 2005, helping many students to reach the standard for exam certification. She has been inspired by many different people over the years but especially by Alistair Greetham and Liz Bussey. She also works in an Osteopathic Clinic in Crawley, West Sussex and has learned much about the role of rehabilitation in the Pilates Studio from Trevor and Jo Strutt.   Bethia

Bethia Hope-Rollins BA (Hons)

Bethia is an enthusiastic teacher of both Studio and Mat based Pilates. Having studied Tourism and Management at Brighton University, Bethia returned to London in 1999 to begin her business career. Her search for a form of exercise that would benefit both her body and mind led her to Pilates. Having practiced gymnastics as a child and kung fu as a teenager it was a natural fit. She was instantly converted by the quality of movement and benefit to posture that Pilates elicits and re-trained in 2001, to make Pilates her work. Bethia has certified with four Pilates schools with Polestar being the predominate influence. She is recognised as a level 3 Pilates Instructor by the Register of Exercise Professionals.  During her career she has had the opportunity to learn under several master trainers, taking workshops with Brent Anderson, Shelly Powers and Lolita San Miguel and certifying with master trainer Rachel Swindle of The Foundation to teach Pre and Post Natal Pilates.  In 2005 Bethia was invited by Polestar to mentor their UK Mat Series.  She is highly rewarded by the role of supporting trainee teachers and passionate about raising the quality of Pilates that is taught.  Bethia is now excited to join Polestar as an educator.  She can be contacted at bethia@polestarpilates.co.uk.
